A Day of Thanks and Praise

ree

"Therefore will I give thanks and praise You, O Lord, among the nations, and sing praises to Your name" (Ps.18:49, Amp).

It seems like these day in our world, there is a special day for everything under the sun. There is quite an extensive list: Boss's Day, Secretaries Day, Nurses Day, Son or Daughter Day, Volunteer Day, Pie Day, and the list goes on. There is literally a day for something or someone to be recognized or celebrated every single calendar day. Even as I write this today, November 7th, it is National Hug a Bear Day! (Not sure if you hug a real bear or a stuffed one). But wait, hold the calendar! What would it be like if we had a day, each and every day, to celebrate Jesus with thanks and praise? Think about all He has done for us and you will soon realize that 365 days are not enough to thank Him and to praise Him.

Side note: David, in the Psalms says, "I will praise You seven times a day" (Ps. 119:164).

Begin today and every day with thanks and praise to our heavenly Father. Just try it for twenty-one days, for this is the time frame scientists say it takes to develop a habit. After that time, it will just be what you do on a daily basis. Begin or end your day with thanks and praise to our Savior Jesus Christ! "O praise the Lord, all you nations! Praise Him, all you people!" (Ps. 117:1)

It is truly a day of celebration each and every day, go ahead put it on your calendar.

Thanks and praise are our ways to express gratitude and commitment to our Father God. Make it a regular part of your routine rather than just once in a while, or in some cases once a year. Show your devotion and be intentional to the One who loves you beyond measure. Learn to foster a heart of thankfulness and gratitude in all circumstances.

Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus" (I Thes.5:16-18, Amp).

Rejoice - pray - give thanks to God today. It's National Day of thanks and praise everyday! Won't you join in the celebration today?

"Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!"

(Phil. 4:4, Amp)

Heavenly Father, we praise You! We honor You! We adore You! We thank You for all You have done for us. May we always rejoice and bring honor to You. "Thank yous" just don't seem adequate, but at times it's all we can simply say. Father God, Your love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and salvation is more than worthy of our praise to You. We honor You today and every day. In Jesus, our Lord and Savior's holy name we pray, Amen.
