Aglow with the Spirit

 "Never lagging behind in diligence; aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord" (Rom.12:11, Amp).

Everyone likes for their skin to have a beautiful, healthy glow that shimmers for all to see. As women, we purchase beauty aids, consume supplements, host or participate in make-up/spa parties, and even endure an array of treatments to promote beautiful, glowing skin. But what if we paid more attention to being 'aglow with the Spirit' of the Lord?

Let's take a look at some scriptures that may assist us in being aglow with the Spirit:

"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin], having been deeply rooted [in Him] and now being continually built up in Him and [becoming increasingly more] established in your faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing in it with gratitude" (Col.2:6-7, Amp). First and foremost, we see that we have received Christ; He dwells in us! How could we not glow with Christ in us? As we walk in union with Him, may we always reflect His character in what we say and do. May we live our lives in such a way that others see the glow of Jesus in us. May our example lead others away from the darkness of their sin and draw them to Jesus. We are deeply rooted in Christ which means those roots run deep they are not just superficial. This allows us to be built up in Him much like a battery that is continually being recharged. In turn, our glow will never fade. We become more and more established in our faith, and we overflow with gratitude which directly affects our outward glow.

 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven"

Matt.5:16, Amp). As our light for God shines for all to see, the afterglow will be seen always as we strive to honor and glorify our heavenly Father.

Let it shine, let it glow!

Father God, we praise you and thank you for the glow we carry as we reflect Jesus! Help us to continue to be aglow in Your Spirit. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
