Be a Living Psalm

Writer: Laurie KlimpleLaurie Klimple

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength, and my Redeemer"

(Ps. 19:14, NKJV).

You have probably read and spent some time in the book of Psalms at some point. They are full of the most amazing words you will ever read. You can see how the writers loved, trusted, and obeyed the Lord throughout the Psalms. You can note how they praised Him and even cried out to Him in need. It is also filled with glimpses of Jesus and packed full of prayer and praise.

Did you know that you can become a living Psalm? Due to your true belief in God and who you have become in Christ, you certainly can - yes, you, an actual psalm! You can be a walking demonstration that God exists, that He is faithful, and He does all things well. You can be a living representative of God's written word. You can let people experience His presence through the words you speak, your very attitude, and your actions toward others. You can help others realize that the God of grace loves them and wants to illuminate their lives with His joy, mercy, and salvation. Each day as you move towards your final, amazing destination, others will see the joy you experience as it flows into every aspect of your life. People will see Christ as you worship with heartfelt praise to Him. They will notice where your focus is and where your strength comes from. Your faith and obedience will be evident in your daily walk.

Begin your mission as a living psalm by asking yourself these questions:

*What am I saying or demonstrating with my life?

*Am I shining brightly as a light to those who need God's hope?

*Am I telling my story to others so they will see how God has saved my life?

*Am I making an eternal difference to those who hear me?

*Am I conducting myself as a living example of Christ?

Honor God with your heart, mind, and your mouth. Others are always watching and listening. Be His witness, be His ambassador, and make Him known to all those you encounter. You can be Jesus to someone without ever even saying a word. Feel free to write your own psalm, but the bigger challenge is to be a walking, breathing, living testimonial psalm of Jesus for all to see Him in you. Your actions can truly be louder than any of your words.

"I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you" (John 15:13, NIV).

Father, guide our words, our hearts, and our minds so we can bring You honor and encourage others to know You. May we be a walking psalm for others to see You through us as Your representatives. We love You and want to honor You. In Christ's Name, Amen.
