Blessings vs Luck

Good luck! You are so lucky! Better luck next time, I'm all out of luck...
On and on it goes with so-called luck. Luck is defined as chance or happenstance; based on fate, a force that causes things, especially good things to happen by chance. Some synonyms are advantage, karma, prosperity, win, success, good fortune...
However, in the life of a Christian, there is NO such thing as luck! Instead, we are blessed! A blessing is declaring God's favor and goodness upon others. A blessing is not only the good effect of words, but it also has the power to bring them to pass.
God blesses people by giving life, riches, fruitfulness, or plenty. His greatest blessing is turning us from evil (Acts 3:25-26) and forgiving our sins (Rom. 4:7-8; Ps. 32:1).
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them.
He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matt. 5:3-12, NIV).
As you read these words from Christ Himself, may you receive each word and see that you are truly blessed:
*You are spiritually prosperous, happy, and to be admired. (vs. 3)
*You are forgiven and refreshed by God's grace. (vs. 4)
*You are inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, and worthy of respect. (vs. 5)
*You are joyful, nourished by God's goodness. (vs. 6)
*You are content and sheltered by God's promises. (vs. 7)
*You are anticipating God's presence as you spiritually mature. (vs. 8)
*You are spiritually calm with life-joy in God's favor. (vs. 9)
*You are comforted by inner peace and God's love. (vs. 10)
*You are morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God's goodness. (vs. 11)
*Your reward in in heaven - it's absolutely inexhaustible! (vs. 12)
So, may you also bless God by showing gratitude to Him, for you are so very blessed! Go a step further and receive the blessing of Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of your soul. Then share the blessings of Jesus with others. In lieu of saying "good luck" to others, let it now be "blessings" upon their endeavors. It could be just the opportunity you are looking for to tell them about how blessed in Christ you truly are.
"Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, and all that is [deep] within me, bless His holy name. Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget any of His benefits" (Ps. 103:1-2, Amp).
Father, may we truly take the time to understand the depth of Your blessings and love for us. Thank You for Your word, and may we ingrain it upon our hearts. Forgive us when we don't see the blessings You so richly lavish upon us. We honor and praise Your holy name. In Christ, Amen.
