From Despair to Repair

Writer: Laurie KlimpleLaurie Klimple

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Ps. 51:10).

Perhaps you have experienced a bruised, broken, or completely shattered heart caused by various circumstances you have encountered in your life. Whether these events were results of your own choices or due to the choices of others, it left your heart vulnerable and even in pain. Whatever the despair of your heart might be, God is ready, able, and willing to conduct the necessary repairs if you will let Him. After all His Son, Jesus, knows what a broken heart feels like - He truly knows, for He Himself experienced it.

God created you with the potential to have a whole, pure, and beautiful heart - a heart for Him. As you give your heart to Jesus, study His word, and commit to follow Him in all your ways, your heart will become more like His heart. A whole and strong heart you will possess!

"My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Ps. 73:26, NKJV).

We serve a mighty God who creates the broken into beautiful, allows messes to become messages, and tests to become testimonies. Won't you receive all that God has for you, even when it seems scary, difficult, or uncomfortable? He loves you fiercely and has a beautiful plan for you and that heart of yours. So out of despair and into repair, your heart will never be the same, for it will be beautifully whole and full of Christ.

"The One who was sitting on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new!" (Rev. 21:5a, NCV)

Father, I give you all of my heart. Even though it is broken and tattered into many pieces and shards, make it whole and beautiful as you transform me into what You created me to be. Make me more like Jesus. Lord, fulfill Your plans for me in this earthly life. I love You, Father God. In Christ I pray, Amen.

"He upholds my heart, I will not fear (Ps. 112:8a).
