Me Too

ree

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]”

(Ps. 91:1-2).

Growing up the eldest in my family, being a female, and having "the gift of gab", my kid brother didn't stand a chance. I talked non-stop and even talked for him; he never had to say a word. He would just follow me around saying "me too" about everything no matter what I asked for. He actually didn't talk until he was older, causing great concern with my mother. She took him to the doctor to inquire about his speech development. The doctor pointed to me and said, "Why should he talk when she talks for him?" He even named his favorite stuffed animal monkey Me Too!

Those childhood memories will always be with us; we continue to laugh about them today. I am very proud of my brother, not only did he start talking, but today he is a gospel preacher and pastor. When I hear him preach the word of God, I am now the one who says, "me too."

As I was reading the word of God and concentrating on some of the Psalms that David wrote, I once again found myself saying, "me too, God." David praised God, depended on Him, and took refuge in Him.

“I love You [fervently and devotedly], O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; And I am saved from my enemies" (Ps. 18:1-3, Amp).

And I say, "oh, me too, Lord!" You are my strength. You are my rock. You are my fortress. You rescue me. I trust and take refuge in You. You are my shield. You are the horn of my salvation. You are my high tower. You are my stronghold. I call upon You, Lord to praise You! You have saved me too! (Oh, how I love to personalize the scriptures). I encourage you to get into the word of God and personalize the scriptures, after all He is talking to you. Don't be surprised if you hear yourself say, "me too, Lord."

Dear heavenly Father, I praise Your holy name. Just like you loved, listened to, and protected Your servant, David, I thank You for doing the same for me too. You are an awesome God, and I will ever praise You. Thank you for the privilege to call You Father!

In Christ, Your Son, Amen.
