Seating Arrangement

Do you have a favorite place to sit in church or somewhere else that you just have to get to, or a seat you are drawn to? When you arrive at an appointment do you automatically scan the room as to see where you will sit? What is it about a particular seat that lures us to its spot?
My husband, formerly being in law enforcement, would always choose a seat in the back facing the front of a restaurant, so he could see everyone coming and going from the door. He felt that was the best spot to keep an eye on things. Where you sit is actually where you view things from a certain perspective.
Going to the movies once with friends was quite an interesting task of musical chairs. My friend wanted to sit in the very front, up close. I preferred the middle section, and her husband preferred the back to be closer to the snack bar. Where we choose to sit allows us to take in moments, actions an details from only a particular perspective, but possibly miss others.
Let's take a careful look at Ephesians 2:6-7 "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus." Begin to visualize this scripture with yourself seated beside Christ above and the view of your life on this earth. Allow your perspective to change as you sit for awhile with Jesus above it all. With Jesus seated next to you and from above, how differently things will begin to look. Problems and circumstances begin to fade into small specks of nothingness. Things that once bothered you seem so insignificant with you and Jesus observing together from above.
I encourage you to keep this scripture handy and to keep your new seating arrangement with Christ above in your mind as you continue this earthly journey. Keep focused on things above, one day our view will be nothing short of this view from heaven.
Father, thank You for seating us with Christ in the heavenly realms. Oh, how our perspective changes when seated next to Jesus. Thank you for the glimpse of eternal life with You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
