Yes, You Can!

"I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace]" (Phil. 4:13, Amp).

Recently, I had to go shopping for a weed eater. Now, I have been shopping for many things in my shopping career, but never a power tool, that was a new venture! As one who now had to think about such things, I was not exactly sure how to go about shopping for one. I soon began to question my ability to not only pick out the right one, or to pick out the most affordable one, but which one could I learn to maneuver, and so on. I had so many questions. Then the doubt crept in which affected my attitude and my ability to think clearly: Oh, I can't do this, I don't want to do this, this is too hard, I'll do this later, I don't have time; I'll just hire someone to do it for me, and so on it went.

What is the one thing you say you can't do? What is it that must be done that you dread doing? What's causing procrastination to churn within you? What may be unsettling within your spirit? We are all familiar with Philippians 4:13, it says "I CAN do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me." So, rethink it, YES, you can! He will strengthen you to do so, even the things you think you cannot do. You can do whatever you are called to do. With Jesus, you can do it together. You've got this. You're never alone. Stop doubting yourself. God did not create and empower you only for you to doubt yourself. "So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you" James 4:7, Amp).

You really can do the hard things. You can learn to do the things you have never done before. So, what are you waiting for? Just as Jesus told the crippled man that stayed on his mat in John 5:8, "Get up, pick it up, get going and move!" Don't stay stuck thinking you can't when YES, you can! "But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes' or ‘No, no’ [a firm yes or no]; anything more than that comes from the evil one" (Matt. 5:37, Amp). Let Jesus hear you say, "Yes, yes I can." We're in this together, Jesus! (And by the way, I did find just the right weed eater and am learning to use it).

"Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation]" (Is. 41:10, Amp). Thank You, Lord, I CAN!

Knowing that we are in this together with Jesus brings peace, confidence and hope.

"And He raised us up with Christ and gave us a seat with Him in the heavens. He did this for those in Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:6, NCV). So, change your perspective as you sit in your seat with Jesus. Look out over your life with Him at your side. You can truly do all things!

Father, God, we praise You! Thank You that when our faith is weak, You will remain faithful

(2 Tim. 2:13). May we realize that we can indeed do all things through Christ who gives us strength. May we realize that You have equipped us to do all things through Him. Thank You, Father for our yes. In Christ we pray, Amen.
