"So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom"
(Ps. 90:12, NASB).

Tests through out school, pop quizzes, certification assessments, final evaluations, work appraisals...whew! Life is full of constant assessing, analyzing, learning, evaluating knowledge and skills, providing feedback to offer improvement, and measuring what has been learned. Then, suggestions are made for additional support or for deepening one's understanding. We are even constantly asked to fill out surveys for everything rating services we receive. According to AI, a test measures individual's capabilities, thoughts, or performance in specific tasks. Tests show students "what they know" and what they can do. Tests can show strengths as well as weaknesses. With all of this in mind, the true evaluation should be how am doing, Lord?
"Don’t excuse yourself by saying, 'Look, we didn’t know.' For God understands all hearts, and He sees you He who guards your soul knows you knew He will repay all people as their actions deserve" (Prov. 24:12, NLT).
Have we grasped the understanding of God's word? Have we developed the ability to apply His knowledge into our lives? Do we adjust our learning strategies based on our results of what we have actually learned from God? Are we studying the truth of His word and taking true ownership of our learning? Do we know where our strengths and weaknesses lie?
"Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (Ps.136:23-24, Amp). O, Lord, how am I doing?
“I, the Lord, search and examine the mind, I test the heart, to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds" (Jer. 17:10, Amp).
Yes, tests matter in life. We are measured by our IQ (intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient). However, all these are standards man has developed and put into place. But what about our BQ (Biblical Quotient)? How adept are we in the knowledge of God and how to live our lives as followers of Christ? May we stop to evaluate our Christian walk and check with the Master Scholar to see how we are doing. Allow Him to teach you. Allow time for study and application of His word. Permit your faith to continue to grow as you walk closely with the Father.
"And faithfulness is Yours, Lord, for You reward a person according to his work" (Ps. 62:12, NASB).
Your faith in God must be spoken, done, seen, heard, and felt daily. How much of what you know is right? Is it demonstrated in your every day life? What can others say after being in your company? Do others experience the love and knowledge of God in your life? How am I doing, Lord? After assessing the questions, go to the Lord in prayer and ask for His answer. We all long to hear "well done good and faithful servant" (Matt. 25:23).
“Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds [earthly works, faithfulness]" (Rev. 22:12, Amp).
Father God, we praise You and glorify Your holy name. Thank You for loving us and teaching us how to be in relationship with You. Forgive us when we stray from what we truly know as Your truths. May we be aware always of 'how we are doing' in You. May Christ be magnified in our lives for all to see. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
