Now that the new year is in full swing, the first week almost complete, the past year behind us, and resolutions for the new year (2025) have been made; let's think about something new. Have you ever thought about having a "never again" list? Instead of what you will focus on, think about what to never again say or do. Let's take a close look, it may just change your entire focus for this year. (Excerpt from the book, The Power of Your Words, by E.W. Kenyon and Don Gossett).
Never again:
*Never again will confess I can't, for "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13).
*Never again will I confess lack, for "My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:19).
*Never again will I confess fear, for "God hath not given me a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love , and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7).
*Never again will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for "God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3).
*Never again will I confess weakness, for "The Lord is the strength of my life" (Ps. 27:1), and "The people that do know their God shall be strong, and take action to resist" (Daniel 11: 32).
*Never again will I confess supremacy of the enemy over my life, for "greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
*Never again will I confess defeat, for God always causes me to triumph in Christ" (2 Cor. 2:14).
*Never again will I confess lack of wisdom, for "Christ Jesus... is made unto me wisdom from God" (1 Cor. 1:30).
*Never again will I confess sickness, for "by His stripes I am healed" (Is. 53:5), and Jesus "himself took my infirmities, and bore my sicknesses" (Matt. 8:17).
*Never again will I confess worries and frustrations, for I am "casting all my cares upon Him; for He cares for me" (1 Pet. 5:7). In Christ I am "care-free!"
*Never again will I confess bondage to anything, for "where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom" (2 Cor. 3:17). My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!
*Never again will I confess condemnation, for "There is therefore now no condemnation to then which are in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:1). I am in Christ; therefore, I am free from condemnation.
*Never again will I confess loneliness. Jesus said, "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matt. 28:20), and "I will never leave you, not forsake you" (Heb. 13:5).
*Never again will I confess curses and bad luck, for "Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing He promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith" (Gal. 3:13-14).
Never again will I confess discontent because "I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances" (Phil. 4:11).
*Never again will I confess unworthiness because "He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Cor. 5:21).
*Never again will I confess confusion because "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace" (1 Cor. 14:33), and "we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God" (1 Cor. 2:12).
*Never again will I confess persecution, for "if God is for us, who (or what) can be against us? (Rom. 8:31).
*Never again will I confess the dominion of sin over my life because "the law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death" (Rom. 8:2), and "as far as the the east is from the west, so he moved our sins from us" (Ps. 103:12).
*Never again will I confess insecurity because "when you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down and your sleep shall be sweet...for the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong,
and will keep your foot from being caught [in a trap]" (Prov. 3: 24, 26).
*Never again will I confess failure because, "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]" (Rom. 8:37).
*Never again will I confess frustration, for "You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You - in both inclination and character],
be will I confess fear of the future, for "cause he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation] (Is. 26:3).
*Never again will I confess fear of the future, for "That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit, for His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets" (1Cor. 2:9-10).
*Never again will I confess troubles, because Jesus said, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
May you hold on to this list and remember what you confess, with your mouth, you possess! We all need to realize and be aware of the power our words posses. May you be conscious of your words in all that you think, say, and do throughout this new year in 2025. May you 'never again' speak negative things over your life. Go to God's Word for your true confessions of faith. Focus your faith on Jesus Christ and what God's word says!
Father, God, we confess that You are Lord of our lives. You are in control. What You say is the ultimate truth. Bless us, Father, as we go forward in 2025 with Your grace upon us. May we seek You and Your Word to help us as we never again claim any form of negativity over our lives. Help us to think before we speak words over our lives, or the lives of others. May we honor, bless, and praise with our words. We adore You, Father. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
